So I'll try to catch up on some of the highlights of the Christmas season and what our family is currently enjoying.
In celebration of Christmas this year Amy (my bff) and I decided that instead of exchanging gifts between our kids we would do a little Christmas party for our two families. We had them over at our home where we ate homemade soup, made gingerbread houses and had hot cocoa and treats. The kids had a blast making the gingerbread houses. Actually, the were graham cracker houses which saved on time and work! Here are a few pics of our kids having a good time building their creations:

We also celebrated many birthdays during December. Both the girls' Grandma's birthdays are in December, their Uncle Billy, a cousin and several friends! We had Grandma Chyrl over for a Birthday dinner this year. We made her a homemade carrot cake. The girls helped peel and shred the carrots and lick the beaters! Here is their finished product:Here they are with Grandma Chyrl (who is sporting her homemade paper birthday hat True made her).

Christmas was really nice and simple this year. I made quite a few homemade gifts and we didn't go overboard as we usually do on the store bought stuff. The kids didn't seem to mind or notice either! It made me feel really good to hear them tell their friends that their favorite gifts were the homemade ones! Here are the girls posing for a quick pic in front of our tree.

Christmas Eve the girls decided to have a sleepover in Sage's room with their new sleeping bags they got from Grandma & Grandpa Jarrel. Mom and dad thought this was a great idea too!
Christmas morning came and the girls found that Santa had left them exactly what they wanted. Sage got her flat screen monitor for her computer and a TV pillow.
True got her "flattened" screen TV but seemed to be more excited over the lifesavers in her stocking!
Deni got the giant teddy bear she wanted and a surprise chair for her room.
They were excited to FINALLY get pixos after being denied them last Christmas. It was a good idea only because they were disappointed when they tried them and made them love homemade gifts even more! Haha!
Sage was super excited about her goth doll I made her. She said I couldn't have done something cooler for her. *Smiles*
We got too busy and forgot to take more pictures Christmas morning so the girls agreed to model some of their homemade loot for the blog. Here is Sage with her homemade kitty cat, doll and scarf.
True with her homemade monsters and scarf.
And Deni with hers.
Here's the girls modeling their monster hoodies.
I started to make some felt food for them but ran out of time. So here's a picture of the sugar cookies I got done.
The girls weren't the only ones who got spoiled. Aunt Kathy had a surprise made for me. It's a custom mother's pendant. The top emerald is Sage's birthstone, the middle pearl is True's, the bottom opal is Deni's and the two amethyst on the sides are for Dennis and I. Needless to say I cried!
So now that the holidays are over and spring will be here before we know it, we started germinating some seeds for our garden. The girls have had a blast planting and watching how quick they've sprouted. We started some herbs, two different kinds of lettuce, swiss chard, peas and radishes.

We also harvested our first broccoli today! It wasn't quite enough to make with our dinner but the girls enjoyed it as a snack with ranch!

We will be planting some more next weekend and repotting the starters so we can get them used to being outside a few hours a day until they are ready for the garden. We hope to have lots of stuff growing this spring! Well this is all I got for now. I'll try to update sooner now that mom has Internet and is looking forward to seeing more pictures of the kids!
Hope you all had a great Holiday Season!
