Holidays are over...back to real life!

So you are all probably thinking what a slacker I am....no post since October!
The truth is, October is where the chaos starts around here.

It starts with Deni's birthday, followed closely by Halloween. Then Thanksgiving, and of coarse Christmas and finally New Years.
So from about September 20th through January 1st, I am so busy I have no time for myself, let alone my blog!

But hey, I'm sure you are all busy too, so I'll stop whining!
I did manage to post some pics of Deni's birthday, so that's good. A few less photos to re-size to put on here!

We threw a little Halloween party this year for our kids. They danced and ate all night and had a pretty good time.

Sage wanted to go as a flapper. (I will NEVER sew with fringe again!)

True designed her own costume and went as "Mother Nature".

Deni went with a mermaid. I couldn't find a pattern for any of the costumes (because I'm a last minute slacker) and so I had to make my own. Let me tell you people, GET A PATTERN if your making a mermaid costume! Needless to say it made it about an hour!

I didn't even get any pictures of Thanksgiving! But you know, it may have been the most relaxed Thanksgiving I've had since mom used to take care of everything! Mom in law, Chyrl, and Aunt Kathy were a huge help! Everyone took care of a few things and I didn't have as much to do so I got to enjoy the meal and company! It was really low key and super delicious!
We were bummed when the left overs were gone because I think it was the best turkey, stuffing and gravy we've ever had! And the heavenly sweet potatoes with pecans....I don't think I'll be waiting till next Thanksgiving to make more of those!

So I pretty much worked my little fingers to the bone on Christmas. I should definitely start in July if I am to continue making an all homemade Christmas every year. I get so caught up in sewing, crafting, painting and what not, that I don't get time to enjoy the season. It was gone before I knew it!

I don't have pictures of all the stuff I made because, well, I just haven't had time!

I had a ton of help from Dennis this year which was awesome! He built the kids a puppet theater and I sewed some finger puppets to go with it. He made marshmallow guns and even painted them black and put their names on them!

I sewed crayon rolls and brush rolls for the craft kits we gave them. They got handmade aprons and oven mitts for a cute little kitchen kit we put together for them.

My friend D. aka "Mr. Snuggleups" makes the best hand crafted soaps and body products! So I scored some awesome stuff from him to put in some bathroom kits and then I made some wash mitts and cloths to go with them.

I sewed new pjs, baby slings, a dress up wedding dress and made jewelry among many other things! They loved it all and made me feel really good about all the work.

As they get older I'm not too sure if they'll appreciate the handmade stuff like they used to, but they were sure to say they loved all of their stuff!

So there is your brief catch up! I hope you all have enjoyed your Holidays!
I won't bore you with New Years resolutions and such. But I will tell you, taking more pictures and keeping in touch are on the list. Wish me luck!
