True Talent

I've been blessed with artistic children. I know, I know, I sound like a mom bragging (duh!) but mommy title aside, they are REALLY talented.
Sage can draw portraits, paint, write poetry and play drums.
Deni can make up songs on the piano that make you wonder if you've heard them before.
But True is the one that lives for art. It seems to flow out of her effortlessly. Her drawings make middle schoolers bow their heads in shame. Her sculptures are amazing enough to display alongside the living room decor.
And her full length clay-mation videos are not only a labor of love (we're talking DAYS to create)but are geniusly witty and entertaining.

I know this is beginning to sound like favoritism. It is not. Sage and Deni each have a whole page worth of talents as well. True just so happens to like to archive her projects on film. Which means I get to show them off.
True often works off of inspiration. Whatever she is inspired by or interested in at the moment is often reflected in her art.
She's been enjoying video games this summer. Perhaps a few too many video games, but I'm not about the broach the delicate subject of a stay at home dad with three kids to entertain...there is plenty of reading, studying and chores going on as well!
So it was no surprise to come home to this:

Do you know who they are and what they are made out of?
That would be Mario and Luigi made out of Bendaroos.
Benda what? Benda who? (Sorry, I couldn't resist)

Of coarse if you have Mario and Luigi then you gotta have Princess Peach.

And no Mario and Luigi game would be complete without arch Nemesis Bowser.

Complete with Evil Minions.

Make that lots of Evil Minions.

And a few other characters that make me realize I am not that video game savvy any more.

She just turned eight two months ago. I can't wait to see how good she will be in another couple years!
