New addition to the family...(kitchen)

For some time now I've been debating on whether to get a waffle maker. The kids love waffles. You know, those lovely frozen discs you slide in the toaster. The ones you have to smother in butter and syrup just to disguise the weird "cardboard taste" and make edible. Yeah, they love those.
It doesn't take much of an excuse to warrant the purchase of a new kitchen gadget. Kitchen gadgets and tools are a weakness of mine. I often find myself lingering in the housewares aisle of whatever store I go in. It's almost torture to leave the store without so much as a shiny new cookie sheet or a fancy cheese grater.
It's the larger items I have to give the boss (we'll let him pretend) a good excuse for. SO of coarse "our kids haven't ever had a real waffle" didn't really qualify as a good excuse. BUT- "Hey, eating fresher is better for the kids and school is starting soon which means waffle season is near"- qualified as one!

We even found an easy recipe for batter than can be refrigerated for several days at a time. That way we can just put it in a squeeze bottle (thanks for the idea Annie) and pour it into the waffle maker for fresh waffles before school! There is even a little light that pops on when the waffles are done cooking! It's so easy even Sage can do it! So of coarse, we had to have practice...
Here she is showing you how easy it is!

(Check out that morning hair! She'd kill me if she saw this on here haha!)

They were pretty yummy.

Especially good with our homemade pomegranate syrup from last fall.

Even dad who "doesn't like waffles" got in on the action.

He said they were "ok". But he ate two.
